Q: What’s your major/area of interest and what school do you attend?
I attend Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. I am currently majoring in Business Public Relations for my Masters. For my Bachelor’s degree I studied Communications Broadcasting with a minor in Public Relations and Theater.
Q: What are some of your current projects or activities that you are engaged in on campus? Also, have you completed any beneficial internships/summer programs?
Some of my most recent projects include directing and co-producing a short film. I also have the opportunity to record, interview, and edit segments for a student run show at Liberty University called Option LU. I have completed four internships. Two internships were geared towards the Public Relations field working with Lovejoy, GA City Hall and Community Center. The other two internships I completed were in the Broadcasting field with WSET-TV Channel 13 in Lynchburg, VA and with the Liberty University News Service.
Q: How hard is it being a student and balancing the work you do towards your career goal?
It’s all about time management. The better the time management the easier it is to balance all activities and course work. When you find something you love to do, it becomes fun to learn more about. So balancing free time, work, and projects becomes easier to handle.
Q:What are your top social media platforms that you use and why?
My top social media platforms are Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Pinterest. Being in the Media field it’s a great way to get new and creative ideas, and to also find out upcoming events, and great ways to network. YouTube and Pinterest are platforms that will give you great ideas for all different subjects and their great for visual learners. I use Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn as network platforms. You can communicate with tons of people all over the country. Overall, all social media platforms are important to know and understand how to use.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In five years I see myself working at a PR firm or in the entertainment industry. I hope to doing something I love and using the most of my educational background.
