The Hip-Hop Professional wants you to meet Alexander “Ali” Hardaway (Valdosta State U/Spelman College)
Q: What’s your major/area of interest and what school do you attend?
A: I attend Valdosta State University but will be attending Spelman College this Fall, to further my education as a Mass Media major.
Q: What are some of your current projects or activities that you are engaged in on campus? Also, have you completed any beneficial internships/summer programs?
A: While in school, I participate in “Her Campus Blog,” and just did volunteer work. Though I do not have a permanent internship right now, in a few weeks I will be interning at the Boys and Girls Club Nationals office.
Q: How hard is it being a student and balancing the work you do towards your career goal?
A: Being a student is not as difficult as most may seem to say it is. Ambition is key, it keeps you awake on those late nights of studying in the library. But with times of studying you also have to sit back and “smell the roses.” I would hangout with friends and go to social gatherings that were happening on and off campus. Balancing work comes with time. At first I would wait to the last minute to complete an assignment, but learned quickly that was not a very efficient idea. Besides ambition, you just have to remind yourself why you‘re at college, what exactly is your motive? From there. if you are like me, you quickly understand college is not cheap, so you might as well make the most of it.
Q:What are your top social media platforms that you use and why?
A: I enjoy my CNN app because it keeps me updated on what’s happening in the world, as well as my E! App. Most of all, I enjoy reading twitter because you get to see opinions and activities of all walks of life from your friends, celebrities and random followers.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A: 5 years from now I see myself H A P P Y! Very cliche, I know, but I don’t know what the future holds for me, that’s the best part about life.
