The Hip-Hop Professional™ would like you to meet Aaliyah Brielle Copeland (Hampton University)
Q: What’s your major/area of interest and what school do you attend?
A: I am a Strategic Communications major, Marketing minor at Hampton University.
Q: What are some of your current projects or activities that you are engaged in on campus? Also, have you completed any beneficial internships/summer programs?
A: Currently, I am the Press Secretary for the Student Government Association (HUSGA) and the PR Specialist for Miss Hampton University and the Hampton Script. In Summer 2015, I studied Global Communications at the American University of Paris in Paris, France.
Q: How hard is it being a student and balancing the work you do towards your career goal?
A: It’s all about your mindset. Being a student is working towards my career goal. As long as I feed that focus, everything I do will help me advancing towards my goals. It’s more difficult to keep that mindset than to actually balance the two seperately, but as long as I know that I’m doing what I have to do now to do what I want to do later, everything intertwines and works together for my greater purpose.
Q:What are your top social media platforms that you use and why? Is there a new social app that has recently launched that u love?
A: I’m an avid Instagram and SnapChat user. When using them, I compare them to a movie. Instagram is the advertisement poster and SnapChat is the behind the scenes! I use both platforms to highlight what I’m doing via Instagram and show them how I did it via SnapChat.
Q: What are your goals for the next 3 to 5 years?
A: In five years, I plan to have obtained my undergraduate and graduate degrees and working for the Atlanta Hawks’ marketing and promotions department. I plan to be able to continue being of service to my community and the world at large while inspiring others to do the same.
